Fantastic Calzones! Ordered take out this time but If I ever find myself in the Rock Island area again I would eat here. They have a very extensive menu to choose from and if you're dining in they had a broad selection of craft beers that would compliment your pizza / calzone choice.

I have now been here twice and have ordered both the deep dish and the regular (quad cities style) pizzas which were both superb. The sauce is a little bit sweeter than elsewhere though the toppings are great in flavor and quantity and the cheese is in great quantity. The crust is also excellent, easy to cut through, while with texture that tastes better than most. The format is similar to Stashu's where one orders first then sits down, though I cannot comment on the bar section in the other room.

Pizza is good but way to expensive for what you get. Not the best bang for the buck if you are looking for pizza in the Quad Cities.

A perenial favorite in Downtown Rock Island , Huckleberrys is still a favorite of mine that I wish I could visit more often. I first ate here in 2000, and ate there every lunch for a year when I worked close by. Lunch offers by the slice options for workers on the go. One thing you notice right away with their Cheese Pizza, is the level of cheese. It is a VERY CHEESY PIZZA. If you are one of those who only likes to see a small amount of cheese, order something else on the menu, they have plenty to choose from. They do not skimp on toppings here. The White Sausage is outstanding and flavorful, and all of the toppings are fresh. The crust is a feature that has remained consistent and I love it. Not a thin crust by any means, but not a thick one either, its the proper consistency that while offering some bite, yields properly when eaten. The decor has remained consistent. The lighting is somewhat dimmed as you find in a lot of Italian places, and reasonably comfortable seating makes this a great place to dine. Workers are friendly and I have to say I haven't had a bad experience there ever in 15 years. Overall still a favorite of mine, and more than worthy of four stars.

Best pizza in Illinois! The most delicious cheesy pizza I have had in a long time! The pizza is made fresh to order and they aren't stingy with the cheese. So much cheese and sauce, really tasty. If you are in Rock island this is the place to go. Make sure you try the Mississippi pizza, it's got tons of meat on it. The staff is really friendly and fast!

This is my favorite pizza place in the Quad Cities. Try the Colorado White Sausage or the BLT pizza, or better yet, get both!

Pretty good pizza but impossible to enjoy because you're thinking about what you paid for it the whole time. A large cheese pizza is like 19 bucks. A large 1 topping is about 25. That's some expensive pepperoni. If they rethink their pricing I would consider returning but as it stands I'll be looking elsewhere next time I'm in Rock Island.

It was ok. We just had s cheese pizza, very cheesy. Not bad but not great. Service was good even on s busy Friday night. Side salad was fresh and bruschetta was good and only 4.00.

I have tried the calzone, yuck! The sausage was horrible. Then four of us went for dinner, two pizzas, pop and garlic bread, 70.00! Never again! We are from Chicago so we know pizza, don't go here, way over priced!

This was close to our hotel, so we walked over for dinner. The ambiance is good, just an old style, no frills pizza joint. It was also reasonably clean. The staff - all high schoolers. They didn't seem to be ignoring customers, exactly, but they didn't have any hustle. I didn't see anyone over 21 working, and no one seemed to be in charge. The pizza is the real issue. All we got was a small pizza, a large pizza, and waters, and our bill was $50. I don't mind overpaying for pizza if it's amazing, but these weren't good. The cheese and sausage for the kids was so cheesy as to present a swallowing hazard, and the large pizza for the adults was falling apart with every bite. And the taste - like a glorified Totino's Party Pizza. Blergh.

A good alternative to the usual QC style pizza. Generous with the toppings and cheese. Had the spicy pizza and it was good. The supreme also hit the spot. The only thing that kind of puts me off is the deli style ordering. They have people wandering the dining room after you order so just make it a sit down and have waiters.

The calzones are to die for......and you will die when you pay for your order (must pay upfront....deli style, which I dont care for) Last week I paid $23 and some change for a SMALL taco pizza. Did Jesus Christ himself make this pizza? Am I getting laid after my meal? Why the high prices?

My idea of a great pizza place. I found Huckleberry's on my way out of town, and immediately regretted not having spent more time there. Not only was their product excellent, they did something few establishments do any more: advise you of their most popular items. It was just me that night, so the server steered me towards their calzones which was a great choice. As their claim to fame, the calzone came with a soft, doughy crust, generous and cheesy interior and cup-size side of tomato sauce to augment. Probably one of the best calzone's I've eaten. Since I was flying in a few hours and couldn't drink, the server recommended a local root beer that was brewed just a few blocks away, and that too was impressive. Had I known about Huckleberry's the previous night, my group and I would have indulged on the $2 beer Tuesdays or 1/2 price bottles of wine on Wednesdays. I know where I'm going next time I'm in town!

Open again after a devastating fire and better than ever. Deep dish and thin crust pizza follows same recipes we loved before the fire. Worth a trip to the District. Attentive staff, great food and drink makes for a great evening.

Calzone Central!!! Whenever I am going out to eat for dinner in the QC it is between Blue Cat and Huckleberry's. It all depends on the mood. Huckleberry's has the best calzones I have ever had. Their menu consists of an area dedicated to all of their specialty pizzas along with specialty calzones. I have not had their pizza but I assume that it is just as good. All of their pizzas/calzones are made with fresh ingredients and they make sure you don't go home hungry. I have tried the Pepperoni calzone. Filled with fresh mozzarella, ricotta cheese, and over a ton of sliced pepperoni. Great for a typical calzone. The ricotta cheese makes the plate. I also have had the Gambler. If you are looking for something spicy this is it. Filled with ricotta cheese, mozzarella, spicy sausage, andole sausage, and jalapenos. Leaves you with a feeling of 'Have I been chewing on hot peppers all night?' They also have specialty pizzas/calzones each month. So their menu is always changing. You can also find great live music here. They are connected with the local recording studio Daytrotter and get some of their artists to perform. They just had Gary Jules there in Nov of '09.

I've only had the pizza here and it was way overpriced. $16 for a ten inch pepperoni pizza? The restaurant is not in some high end area, the floors were dirty and the service was coming from a bunch of high school students who seemed to be more interested in socializing than anything else. However, the pizza is very good. You could tell they use good ingredients. But that still doesn't constitute the high prices.

I had baked penne here that was completely horrifying. It was covered in Ragu, uncooked onions and pepperoni. Yuck!

There are few places in the area I really crave, but the pizza/calzones at Huck's is one. The service is always good, the food quality is excellent and you can take in some good music on occasion. Not in the mood for pizza? Sandwiches will do you right as well. Stop in and tell John hi.

Really good calzone! Service was a little slow, but as long as you're not in a hurry, the food was worth the wait. I had the Mississippi Calzone...Tasty!
